JL Solicitors specialises in immigration law that applies in England and Wales.  This includes all aspects of immigration, nationality and asylum law, and any related appeal or judicial review work.

We deal with human rights law on a regular basis as human rights issues are strongly prevalent in many immigration cases.  In fact, immigration law as a whole is at the forefront of human rights development and caselaw, as new cases considered by courts and tribunals change the interpretation of human rights legislation that may benefit others with similar cases.

Individual issues

We advise and assist people who are already in the United Kingdom as well as people who are currently outside of the United Kingdom regardless of whether they have someone in the UK who can speak on their behalf.  You may be a British citizen, a citizen of the European Union, a dual national, a citizen of any other country in the world, or even a stateless person.

Business issues

We also advise and assist businesses and employers.  For instance, you may be interested in employing someone who is not legally ‘settled’ in the UK, or you already employ such a person and wish to extend the arrangement.  Alternatively, you may simply wish to ensure that your business practises are compliant with the latest immigration law as it applies to businesses and employers.  This will ensure you and your business are not at risk of inadvertently committing an immigration offence, rendering you liable to a hefty fine.
